Patrick Galvin, Commissioner
Pat Galvin was appointed
Commissioner of the Department of Revenue by Governor
Sarah Palin effective December 4, 2006. Before his
appointment he served as a Petroleum Land Manager for the
Alaska Department of Natural Resources, Division of Oil
and Gas. His responsibilities included managing the oil
and gas leasing and licensing programs, lease
administration, and oil and gas permitting for the
division. His education background includes a
Bachelor’s degree in Visual Arts and Quantitative
Economics from the University of California, San Diego,
a Law Degree from the University of San Diego, and an
MBA from San Diego State University. Prior to his
position at DNR, Mr. Galvin served as Director of the
Division of Governmental Coordination, overseeing the
Alaska Coastal Management Program. Previously, Mr.
Galvin was a private practice attorney focusing on
municipal, corporate, and tribal law.
Mr. Galvin and his wife Alyse have four children, three sons and one daughter.

Deputy Commissioners
Deputy Commissioner for Gasline/ Tax Marcia Davis
Marcia Davis was appointed Deputy Commissioner on January 10th, 2007. Marcia is the Deputy Commissioner specifically working with the Gasline and Tax. Marcia brings significant oil and gas industry and managerial experience to the Department. She has served for the past seven years as Vice President and General Counsel for Era Aviation. For the prior nine years she was Senior Counsel for BP Exploration; much of it focused on North Slope gas commercialization and state production tax issues.

Commissioner Davis
Deputy Commissioner for Treasury Jerry Burnett
Deputy Commissioner Jerry Burnett was appointed to this position in January 2009 after having served as the Acting Deputy Commissioner for the preceding five months and Administrative Services Director and Legislative Liaison for the Department of Revenue for the previous four years. Other state service includes two years as Administrative Services Director at the Department of Corrections and twelve years as Finance Committee and Budget and Audit Committee staff to the Legislature. Outside of state service, Mr. Burnett worked as a Real Estate Broker and Life and Health Insurance Agent and was an adjunct professor of business at the University of Alaska Southeast between 1983 and 2002.
