
Commissioner Bryan Butcher
Commissioner Bryan Butcher was appointed to this
position beginning in January, 2011 by Governor Sean Parnell. Mr. Butcher
was the Director of Governmental Relations and Public Affairs for the Alaska
Housing Finance Corporation (AHFC) for the last eight years and in a dual role
was also Vice President of the recently formed Alaska Gasline Development
Corporation (AGDC) since 2010. In 2009 Mr. Butcher served as a
Special Assistant working on Economic Development issues for Governor Parnell.
Mr. Butcher also served as a member of former Governor Sarah Palin’s gasline
team through the AGIA process.
Before joining AHFC in 2003, Mr. Butcher previously
worked for the Alaska State Legislature as a Finance Committee Aide for the
House and Senate Finance Committees for 12 years.
Mr. Butcher also served as the coordinator for Governor
Sean Parnell’s statewide transition team.
A lifelong Alaskan born and raised in Anchorage, Mr.
Butcher holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Oregon.

Deputy Commissioner for Tax Bruce Tangeman
Bruce Tangeman was named Deputy Commissioner of the
Department of Revenue Tax Division in December of 2010.
Mr. Tangeman’s career with the State of Alaska began over 15 years ago at the
Department of Corrections, where he worked as a Budget Analyst. Since then he
has worked for the Department of Health & Social Services as a Budget Analyst,
Legislative Finance as a Fiscal Analyst, and the Alaska Railroad Corporation as
their Corporate Budget Officer.
He then went on to work for Doyon Utilities, LLC as their Chief Financial
Officer. Doyon Utilities is the 3rd largest utility in the state serving Ft.
Wainwright, Ft. Richardson and Ft. Greely. At this post he was responsible for
all financial and fiscal aspects of the company’s operations.
Mr. Tangeman holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Finance with a double
Minor in Management and Economics from Indiana University. Mr. Tangeman also earned the Eagle Scout award, the highest rank attainable from the Boy Scouts of America.
Deputy Commissioner Tangeman and his wife Betty reside in Anchorage.

Deputy Commissioner for Treasury Angela Rodell
Angela Rodell, Deputy Commissioner of Revenue, joined the State of Alaska in
September 2011. Ms Rodell is responsible for the oversight of more than $24
billion of state funds and more than $20 billion of retirement assets.
She has responsibility for portfolio management, cash management, debt
management, unclaimed property, child support division and the permanent
fund division. Ms Rodell also serves as the ex officio board designee
on a number of state boards including the Alaska Industrial Development and
Export Authority, the Alaska Energy Authority, the Knik Arm Bridge & Toll
Authority, the Alaska Student Loan Corporation, the Alaska Municipal Bond
Bank Authority and the State Bond Committee. Formerly, Ms Rodell
served as financial advisor to more than $30 billion of transactions for
state and state authorities in Alaska, Arkansas, California, Illinois, New
Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Rhode Island and Virginia. Transactions
included general obligation, pension obligation, public power, tobacco
securitization, single family housing, multifamily housing, military
housing, toll road and transportation financing. Prior to becoming a
financial advisor, Ms Rodell served as the finance officer to Kentucky
Housing Corporation. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Marquette
University, Milwaukee, Wisconsin and a Master of Public Administration from
the University of Kentucky, Lexington, Kentucky.
